Join Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Santa Clara County Parks as we welcome back local Naturalist Jeff Caplan, director of Common Language Nature, who will teach tools and tips for identifying and connecting with common birds you might meet in the oak woodlands as well as plants they depend on. Jeff focuses on mindfulness, curiosity and bird language to help people from diverse backgrounds feel safe and connected in nature. This basic birding webinar will be great for all ages, especially kids and adults ages 12 and up!
All registrants will receive the access link prior to the event.
Calero County Park is part of the Santa Cruz mountains just a few miles from downtown San Jose and offers stunning views of Santa Clara County. The reservoir, distinct to this 4,471-acre park, hosts a variety of recreational activities while the “backcountry” consists of hiking trails through oak woodland, chaparral and riparian habitats. POST played an important role in purchasing Rancho San Vicente in 2009 keeping it from becoming a luxury housing development. It was a key piece in completing a 15-mile greenbelt from Los Gatos to Morgan Hill, this property was incorporated into Calero County Park in 2018. This event is part of POST’s community event series, which is open to the general public as well as POST donors. We hope you’ll join us! We also curate a separate series of private events for our donors. Learn how you can support POST here: openspacetrust.org/support-post
