Windy Hill is aptly named for its beautiful, grass-covered hilltops which can be seen from many areas of the Peninsula. This 1,335-acre preserve was one of POST’s first major projects. Windy Hill’s summit boasts of beautiful panoramic views – including the views of the Pacific Ocean and the Bay.
On clear days, hikers can see all the way to San Francisco, Mt. Diablo, and even Mt. Tamalpais. On this hike at Windy Hill, POST Ambassadors will share a bit about the conservation efforts that took place to protect this beautiful preserve. Then, hikers will explore the Anniversary Trail (1 mile) and have the option to complete 3 miles by continuing a distance down the Lost Trail, and then heading back to the Parking Area.
This hike is categorized as easy to moderate with little to no elevation change and mostly flat terrain. We recommend sturdy walking shoes and plenty of water!
This event is part of POST’s community event series. These events are open to the general public as well as POST donors, and we hope you will join us! We also curate a separate series of private events for our donor community. Learn more about how you can support POST here: openspacetrust.org/support
