Protected by POST

With a network of POST-protected open spaces that local plants and animals call home, we hope to ensure the resilience of our biodiverse region. Our work helps create an essential balance of rural and urban spaces, allowing people to connect with nature—and each other. Towering redwoods, peaceful parkland, and farms that are essential to our economy and agricultural heritage are just some of the landscapes that make the Peninsula and South Bay extraordinary. For Our Environment

The Bay Area's Peninsula and South Bay are one of the world's top 25 biodiversity "hot spots," thanks to the abundance of species in bay, coastal, forest, cultivated and wilderness ecosystems. This is all in proximity to one of the great economic engines of the globe. POST's work to protect this land has led to the preservation of valuable wildlife habitats, the support of sustainable farming methods, and increased the overall resilience of the landscape in this region.

For Our Quality of Life

POST acquires and protects land for the benefit of everyone in the greater Bay Area. The careful balance of open and developed spaces is part of what makes Silicon Valley a desirable place to live and work. POST strives to maintain that balance in order to preserve the quality of life for current and future residents, as well as the millions of people who visit California every year.

For Our Economy

The environment and the economy are deeply connected. Not only has the natural environment around Silicon Valley provided the perfect location for thriving businesses, but protecting the environment helps mitigate the effects of climate change, ensuring that the Bay Area can remain an economic powerhouse. Furthermore, POST's support of local farmers helps maintain a local food system to benefit all.
