Join Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) for an entertaining and educational webinar about the birds of Midpen’s Windy Hill Preserve!
Local Naturalist Jeff Caplan is back with a new class to teach us how to ID and connect to birds and their habitat for your next visit to Windy Hill. Whether you’re a regular at the preserve or planning your first visit, Jeff will teach us how to connect with birds of this grassland and forest habitat. Jeff focuses on mindfulness, curiosity and bird language to help people from diverse backgrounds feel safe and connected in nature. This free basic birding webinar is great for all ages, especially kids and adults ages 12 and up!

About the Instructor:
Bird Language instructor Jeff Caplan weaves 30 years as a naturalist and a teacher of communication skills, to cultivate a commonlanguage for connecting more deeply with nature and birds. He inspires Youth science educators in Yosemite, tour Guides in the Galapagos, and University students in the Amazon Jungles of Ecuador. He weaves mindfulness, citizen science and bird language to help people from diverse backgrounds to feel curious and connected in nature. About Windy Hill Preserve:
Windy Hill is a 1,335-acre Midpen preserve located in the Town of Portola Valley. Acquired by Midpen in 1980 with the help of POST its distinctive grassy hilltop is iconic to the Peninsula and an ideal spot for kite flying. Hiking trails take visitors through grasslands and well as oak, fir and redwood forests. This preserve is popular among dog-walkers, equestrians and cyclists. The wide Spring Ridge Trail is suggested for hikes while social distancing by POST’s Nik Rau. Check trail conditions here before planning your visit.
