POST Welcomes Curt Riffle as Vice President of Land

Industry Veteran Joins POST Executive Team

(Palo Alto, Calif.)—Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) announced today the appointment of Curt Riffle to the role of Vice President of Land. This newly defined position will oversee all of POST’s land protection, conservation science and stewardship programs.

Riffle joins POST after fourteen years as the Conservation and Science Program Operations Manager and Officer for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Since 2006, he has also been a director of Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, one in POST’s closest public agency partners. With this background, he brings a deep understanding of local land conservation to the position.

“This is truly is a dream job for me. My family and I have admired and contributed to POST’s accomplishments for many years.  As a Director for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and a Program Officer for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation over the last decade, I have worked closely with the POST team to advance their mission,” said Riffle.  “I am so excited to have the opportunity to join POST’s talented staff and directly contribute my experience and knowledge for the important work ahead.”

Riffle holds an MBA from Harvard, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife have lived in the area for over 30 years and currently reside in Los Altos. As an avid outdoorsman, endurance trail runner and horseback rider, he spends much of his free time exploring our local parks and preserves.

“I have known Curt for a long time and could not think of a better person to take the helm of our Land Department,” said POST President Walter T. Moore. “He is not only passionate about our mission and well versed in the technical areas of our of work such as land transactions and stewardship, but also has an extensive background in organizational management. This remarkable mix of traits will ensure he is both inspiring and effective in this new role.”
